Description: Antique original ww2 Japanese type 30 late war bayonet Reissued in 1951 - 1952 by the South Koreans for their rechambered 30/06 arisaka rifles scarce variation Late war Made by Matsushita Kinzoku KK Arsenal / ( National denki mfg ) arrow with a M in the center unfullerd blade squared off ‘ bird head’ pommel Good original wooden grips fair condition- There is light rust pitting on the blade , cross guard and pommel The grips show their age , but could easily be scrubbed and cleaned ,.. if you want them to match your historic arasaka t 99 stock The US style M8 Canvas web frog is worn from honest use It is very interesting, As it has a Korean or Japanese soldiers name tape sewn To the back of the frog - - the frog can be removed , if you desire a WWII era Japanese type 30 bayonet for your type 99 arisaka rifle an interesting relic that participated in two wars , ( these were also reworked in japan for their small home defense / police force circa 1946 - 1955 ) The pommel serial number visible, but hard to read due to wear & rust Old grease & light Rust on the blade- the reissue sheath was painted OD green , the paint shows various chips and scrapes ,… Korean post WWII OD green paint on scabbard. Bayonet lock works perfectly and smooth. fresh out of the woodwork … ( not messed with or ‘ improved’ - this recently came out of a Korean War veterans estate ) It can use a cleaning ( personally ….I prefer it in this original ‘ as found condition) Don’t pass it up !
