Description: Vintage Metal Thermometer Advertising Sign GATEWAY TRUCKING COMPANY Wall Mount - Working Mrs. Edna recently rescued this vintage wall mount metal thermometer from an old garage filled with lots of interesting treasures. It is a wonderful vintage advertising piece, a promotional item that featured everything you needed to know about the Gateway Trucking Company, including their five digit phone number. There are incremental fahrenheit markings from 30 below to 120 degrees, with a special mark for ZERO and Mrs. Ednas personal favorite marks for FREEZ and ING. The sign is made from a magnetic metal, which may be iron or steel. The temperature gauge is made of glass filled with a red colored liquid. The thermometer has been tested at room temperature and in a freezer to see if it works, which it does fairly well. Information printed on the thermometer reads in part: Gateway Trucking Co. Hauling - Moving - Storage General Office - Dallas Phone 2-4443 Sample No. 660 This item is in good or better pre-owned vintage condition. There are signs of wear from age, use and storage, which includes but is not limited to some rust, discoloration, scuff/scratch marks, nicks/chips in the paint and other spots/marks.
