Description: Vintage~Wheary Aviator Black Hard Suitcase~1930's~Early Aviation Collectible Luggage~The Wheary Aviator aviation hard shell suitcase trunk is being offered as a decorative collectible, restoration work in progress, or for an accent table project. The photos lean to the suitcase being a very dark brown/black. I have it listed as black though. However, it might best be kept as a collectible and used for decor. The arms on the locking mechanism open upwards. They are in good working condition. There are no keys with the suitcase. The inside of suitcase has a metal wardrobe rack along with chrome hardware. There is also a fold up piece, which snap into place, on the left side. The snaps are corroded though. Original straps on the inside to hold clothing in place. The hard-shell outer part of suitcase, does contain wear/some dings/tears, etc. This was stored all these years in a closet within a climate controlled and smoke free home. It was used to stored vintage linens and tablecloths. Previous owner's dad's initials are located underneath the handle. J.P.D. It is from McKinney, Texas. He was a traveling salesman. Suitcase measures approx. 24 1/8" x 18.0" x 8.5". Ideal for home/office decor.
