Description: This is one of Revell's earliest Gift Sets, 1955's SKY SQUADRON! IF COMPLETE...there are five kits. Unfortunately, the D-558-2 and Sikorsky S-55 KITS are missing. IGNORE PHOTO OF D-558.... The THREE kits that are included are: 1954 B-24 Liberator: small parts are sealed; larger parts are loose; instructions and original decals are shown 1954 B-25 Mitchell: all parts, instructions and decals sealed in a poly bag 1955 F-84F Thunderstreak: small parts are sealed; larger parts are loose; instructions and original decals are shown 1955 Sikorsky S-55: kit is missing; instructions and decals are shown; base/stand arm are included. Questions? 1st--there are only TWO "insert" boxes; I do not know if EACH kit had its own "box"--or if 3 boxes were provided and 2 kits were positioned between the boxes. 2nd-- I do not know WHY the older 1954 B-25 is in poly and the "newer" [when the 1955 Skyrocket was part of this it was in cello. 3rd--Since both the F-84 and B-24 only have the smaller parts sealed I wonder IF these were added from "regular" kit releases. However...since the S-55 base/arm, instructions, and decals are included and "loose"..I'm speculating that in the case of the S-55 only the smaller parts were sealed--as in the B-25 and F-84F. The tube of cement is S cement---1955 kits are generally considered pre-S...but Ive seen S cement tubes in other 1955 Gift Sets---likely issued in 1956! the box FACE is shown. Not the best--I've only seen 6 of these sets on Ebay in about 10 years--and I sold one back in 2013. I did not photograph the panels---top panel is missing; other panels have "issues".
