Description: This is a clean and relatively rare matched set of Gulco Long Range 375 1¾" diameter amber and red Stimsonite 2-Pie AGA 10 reflex reflectors for road bikes, made by the (Charles) Gulotta Division of Bright Star Industries in the 1950s and early 1960s. This includes a front handlebar mounting bracket for the amber reflector and a rear fender bezel for rear fender mounting on middleweight road bikes (e.g. Corvette, Typhoon, American, Jaguar). (Curvature of the rear bezel is too wide for lightweight fenders.) Reflector area is 1¾" in diameter on a No. 375 aluminum backing plate. These reflectors use Stimsonite AGA 10 2-Pie reflector lenses, and predate the slightly later (and virtually identical) State Approved Stimsonite 10 reflex reflector designs that took over beginning in the 1960s. Both reflectors are in clean used condition. The amber reflector shows significantly more weathering to its aluminum backing than that of the red (see Photo 3), but both backings have been cleaned and polished, and both mountings are secure.The red reflector is paired with a chrome bezel for a middleweight bike fender. The amber reflector is paired with a New Old Stock Gulco front reflector mounting bracket, for attaching either above or below the handlebars under the handlebar clamp bolt. The front bracket is 2½" long overall, with a 5/16" mounting hole for the handlebar bolt.
