Description: RARE 18TH C WOODEN FOOTWARMER AN EXTREMELY RARE AND WONDERFUL 18TH CENTURY WOODEN FOOT WARMER IN FANTASTIC CONDITION. LINED WITH PUNCHED TIN ON THE INSIDE. PROBABLY CONNECTICUT, CIRCA 1760-1790. A WONDERFUL BOX, UNUSUAL IN THAT THE CASE IS DOVETAILED ON THE BACK CORNERS. THE HINGED DOOR AND REMOVABLE EMBER TRAY INSIDE ARE FULLY INTACT. THE ORIGINAL IRON BALE HANDLE ON THE TOP IS COMPLETE. PARTIAL TAG REMAINS FROM WHAT APPEARS TO BE AN EXHIBITION ENTRY AT A FAIR IN VERNON. THE FOOTWARMER RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL OLD WOOD COLOR.
