It depicts sailing ships (and rowboats) at dock, or in harbor, mostly likely Gloucester, Massachusetts. Several people are seen working on nearby boats tied to the dock. Reflections in water are spot on. 5/8" Wide, Antiqued Gold, Scoop Wood moulding and an Acid Free mat (cream-colored) and glazing are included in this listing. Emile Albert Gruppe’s paintings also include wintry scenes in Vermont and farmlands around the Woodstock, New York area. Gruppe adopted a Post-Impressionist style, with expressive, edged brushstrokes that lend a touch of realism to his work.
