Description: I purchased several altimeters and barometers from the estate of a gentleman who had a huge and impressive collection. Research on my end leads me to believe that this is an older model as it was made in Stockholm Sweden before the company was purchased by Henry Ford in 1918. Carl Edvard Johansson was a Swedish inventor and scientist and formed his company in Sweden in 1911. Other similar listings show later altimeters that are marked made in Los Angeles California. It is in its original leather case, which is in decent condition for its age. Two flaws, the snap no longer clicks shut, and the two leather straps on either side of the snap are not long enough to function. Please note that I purchased these instruments not knowing how to tell if the readings are correct so they are being offered as found. The case measures 4" across and 3" tall
