The straight blade is great for slicing and carving and you won’t find that in the newer knives ! Many people prefer this style of blade because they can be sharpened at home with the awesome Cutco sharpener. This knife has just returned from the factory where it was polished and sharpened. It does show some marks from “other” sharpening but the blade and handle are solid . . . After 60 years of hard work ! We have a one like this that we use for camping and at our hunting cabin.
