Description: Here I have for sale a nice stated First Edition (Book Club Edition) of C,S. Forester's Lord Hornblower published in hardcover with great pictorial dust jacket by Andrew Wyeth by Little Brown in 1946 at the same time as the regular first edition. Chronologically #10 in the Hornblower saga timeline. The book is VG- with clean black boards and gilt. Tight binding with lovely illustrated endpapers. Pages clean and unmarked with a prior seller's penciled price on front free endpaper and prior owner's fairly obtrusive signature on colophon. Significant age tanning to page ends. The dust jacket is VG with still bright colors. Significant chipping to top and bottom of spine, a few closed tears and age tanning to rear panel and inside flaps.
