This Original Antique SIGNED Ostby & Barton 1920's Art Deco Solid Sterling Silver & 10k Solid White Gold Ring is bead set with a 1.5mm Natural & Genuine Antique Single Cut Diamond. This diamond was set using an old technique using a hand graver. This type of antique single cut diamond has a larger table and a round girdle and no culet facet. A single cut diamond has 16 to 18 facets. This type of single cut is an early diamond cut dating to the 19th and early 20th century. The reason for the diamond to be cut in this manner is so that the light is brought in at such an angle that the vision which those gazing upon the diamond perceive is one of brilliance and fire. This diamond has nice color and clarity and is guaranteed to be both Genuine & Natural. This Diamond is in PERFECT PRISTINE CONDITION free of any chips, nicks, cracks, or scratches. This ring has been set with a 10k Solid White Gold Diamond mount in which the diamond has been set. The interior of the ring is also fully hallmarked with the maker's mark "OB" which is the hallmark for Ostby & Barton an extremely collectible and sought after vintage brand. Ostby & Barton, Providence R.I. The business was established in 1879 by Englehart C. Ostby and Nathan B. Barton. Ostby perished in the Titanic disaster while his daughter Helen made it to a lifeboat and survived. The company went on to become one of the most famous jewelry companies in the world. Ostby & Barton Jewelry is now an extremely collectible and highly sought after vintage brand. The dark areas on surface of the silver in the photos are not blemishes but shadows and reflections due to the difficulty in photographing the highly polished silver. The darker oil slick look in the details and recessed areas is the natural patina of the ring that only comes with age. If you would like us to polish the ring further to remove this patina just let us know, it is no problem at all. This ring is in EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION and will arrive ready to wear. This is a SIGNED Ostby & Barton Antique 1920's Art Deco Ladies Cocktail ring not a copy or reproduction. Ostby & Barton, Providence R.I. The business was established in 1879 by Englehart C. The rings are cleaned using an ultraviolet UV-C sterilizer disinfection box that sterilizes without the use of any chemicals that might damage the gemstone.Regarding Ring Sizing: Be wary of any online seller that offers sizing of a ring before it is shipped to you. Due to differences in measuring devices and the way certain types of rings fit these rings should only be sized in person by your local jeweler. Sizing by your local jeweler is relatively inexpensive and you will have a ring that properly fits your finger. All size 9 rings are not the same. The ring may fit on a mandrel and measure as a size 9 but the way the ring is made, the way the ring has been enlarged or reduced, and the finger type you have may make it fit like an 8 or 10 or worse. Have your sizing done in person for a proper fit.If you don't know your ring size you can Google search findmyringsize and use their online tool. They also have a conversion tool for converting US ring sizes to international sizes.Bid with confidence we are a longtime eBay seller with 1000's of positive feedbacks. Our rings are CHECKED and CLEANED (unless otherwise stated) by our JEWELER so condition is not a problemWe make every effort to represent our rings accurately by listing the weight of our rings down to the tenth of a gram and dimensions to the mm. Please use these measurements to gauge heft and scale. An explanation of the measurements in the "Ring Size & Measurements" section. The tall measurement is the distance from the bottom or shank of the ring to the middle peak of the gemstone most easily measured when wearing the ring and placing the hand flat on the table and measuring the height of the ring from the table. The wide measurement is the width of the ring from outside to outside at the widest point when looking at the ring from the top. The rise from the finger measurement is the height of the ring from the finger to the peak of the gemstone when worn.In the final photo the tick marks on the L-Square are 1 millimeter apart. All of our photos are taken using DAYLIGHT BULBS with a color temperature of 5000k so the colors in the photos are extremely close to a true representation of the actual color of the rings and gemstones. We determine the age and period of our rings using:Materials & Methods of ConstructionAvailable Hallmarks, Maker's Marks, & Touchmarks.Years of ExperienceAnything substandard WILL be stated in the description. Please read the entire description and terms and if you have a question Please Ask.YOUR CHOICE OF FREE SHIPPING WITH FREE TRACKING & INSURANCE WITHIN THE UNITED STATES WITH THIS BEAUTIFUL RINGWe ship the next business day and on Saturdays.
