Description: This is an antique (c. 1910) Meiji era Japanese lidded lacquer soup / rice bowl. It is all hand turned cryptomeria wood with over 20 thin coats of Japanese urushi black and red lacquer. The lid fits nicely on the bowl.Having been in storage for over a century, and never used, this lidded bowl remains in good polish and in excellent condition. The bowl measures 4" in diameter by 3" tall (7.5 x 7.5 cm).
