Description: Selling for my mom, so shipping may take a few extra days. Antique 1923 GRACE PUTNAM BYE-LO BABY DOLL Bisque Head, Cloth Body Germany 14”. A 1923 Grace Storey Putnum, 14" Bye Lo Doll with blue glass eyes, Bent (Frog) Legs, 12" Circumference Bisque Head, Bisque Hands with finger nails, Faint Blonde Eyebrows, painted nostrils, and Individually Painted Eye Lashes. Bisque head is made from fragile porcelain without a glaze to closely resemble the realistic features of skin. This piece was possibly made by the Kestner Porcelain Factory in Germany. This doll has a 10” high body and a 4" high porcelain bisque head, for a combined height of 14". She is dressed in a vintage, possibly original, long white dress and a matching bonnet, as well as a full slip, cloth diaper and knitted booties. The bisque head and hands have no breaks, chips, nor cracks. Her clothing (not sure if original) has no stains or tears. The Grace S. Putnum stamp on the back of her head is very clear to see. Her soft fabric body has small stain on backside but no tears. Please note : This Bye Lo doll's blue eyes are beautiful when open but are discolored when closed. Cry box is not working. Crack in left hand (see pic) Back of head has a c with circle around it copyright symbol instead of more common “copr”. I checked with antique doll specialist Jan Foulke who looked at the pictures and responded: “It’s just an alternative marking. It is not less valuable. It is fine.
