Description: To make this a smooth and pleasant transaction experience for everyone, all buyers need to read and understand the Description, Terms of Sale, Payment, and Shipping, below. This very pretty 1920s filigree ring is by Ostby & Barton. In 1879 Engelhart Ostby formed a partnership with Nathan Barton. The firm became the world's largest producer of gold rings. In 1912 he decided to return from one of his many European trips on the Titanic, carrying with him his old doctor's bag he always used when travelling, filled with gems, precious stones, and other valuables that he had bought in Paris. Unfortunately, he never made it back, as he went down with the Titanic. The business continued into the 1950s. This ring features an oval-cut uranium glass stone set into a beautiful, lacy rose gold setting. It is unusual to see rose gold filigree. Although mostly found in white metal--white gold, platinum, sterling--it can also be found in yellow gold. But rose gold is the rarest color of filigree. The color of the glass is a light yellowish green. The combination of the green glass and rose (or pink) gold is striking to the eye. The stone glows under UV or black light. Engraved floral accents in yellow gold embellish each shoulder of the setting, with engraving on the sides of the ring. Further detail is shown in milgrain edging. The inside is stamped "OB 10K." Size 6 1/2 Condition: Very good--the glass stone shows some wear, not so much to the naked eye as under magnification Approximate measurements: 1/2" North to South, stone--8 mm by 10 mm Shipping includes insurance. ****************************************Payment:Payment expected within two days of purchase.Shipping:Please be sure your shipping address on file with eBay is correct.
