Description: Up for sale is this pair of used Alden Chukkas in Shell Cordovan with leather soles. Model is marked “CU”, which is what Alden used to use for shoes custom made for retailers. These were made by Alden for Tom Austin Shoes, which was a high-end shoe store in Midtown Manhattan that closed in 2012. I think these are Ravello, though could possibly be Color 4. The “rare” shell dyes tend to vary from batch to batch, so it can be somewhat confusing to compare shell varieties. I contacted Alden New England to inquire about whether they could confirm, but they could not find any information about the batch of shoes these were part of way back when. Based on markings, there were made in a year ending in zero, so my best guess is they were made in 2010. Alden definitely made a variety of Ravello-based shoes in 2010 (Color 4 make ups as well, though so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). In any event, these are in nice condition. They are on the barrie last, which runs roughly a 1/2 size large. But please know your Alden size.
