Description: Here is a pair of 19th century wool knitted socks. Very well made and tightly knitted from a vibrant rust - red colored yarn . The yarn has a wonderful yellow squiggly sort of dash pattern throughout. This gives the socks a super folky look! They are constructed with a shaped heel and appear well constructed. They measure 11 inches tall from the top down to the heel, and 8 1/2 inches heel to toe. They appear in excellent condition with great vibrant color. One sock may be SLIGHTLY shrunk a bit smaller than the other one, but it is hardly noticeable. I would assume them to date to the mid 19th century, Civil War era or thereabouts.
