She has painted lashes and is from around 1954. She has the side part wig and I believe it is mohair. The flip curls have come loose and is now pretty wild. She definitely needs a restyling to the hair. Although her hair looks pretty cute with the hat if you keep it. The eyebrows and lashes are a burgundy color with a couple of rubs on left brow. She has nice painted lashes that have not turned green. Nice red lip paint with no rubs. She has high color peachy pink cheek color. There is a brown mark across each cheek (maybe from glasses or a chin strap? They are faint but there. I did NOT try and remove these in fear of damaging the cheek color. SEE PICS) There is a tiny white pin dot on right cheek. She has a nice walking body with complete fingers. There are a couple dark pin dots on her belly area. She does have the dimples on hands and feet. Lastly, there is a brown spot / mark on the neck (see pics) that resembles the ones on her cheeks but is larger. She has the original dress and matching panties from from the Playtime Series / Model #111. The dress and panties are a cream polished cotton with waffle weave texture. There are little polka dots in different colors (red, teal, navy blue and dark pink) for the print. The neckline and sleeves are trimmed in aqua stitching. The back of the dress closes with the single greek key snap that is cream in color. The dress does have the attached taffeta slip and it's TAGGED. The dress looks never laundered and still retains some shine. The tag is in great unfaded condition with a few loose strings. It's nice and crisp. The panties match the dress nicely and the elastic is still fairly stretchy. She has a white vinyl hat with dark pink fuzzy flowers and the original elastic chin strap. The fuzzy flower are very nice. There are some pinkish spots on the brim of the hat that could have come from the flowers. There are also some hot pink pin dots (reminds me of a highlighter). This hat is not original to the outfit but came to me on her and looked cute so I will include it. The socks are rayon and seem to have been trimmed down so they don't seem real bunched up. One is a little whiter than the other. The darker sock also has a small hole at the seam. The shoes are cream oil cloth shoes with cardboard bottoms. They are slip on shoes and definitely vintage. One has some pencil writing on the bottom and the other has black dots. These are not original shoes to Ginger. They were on her when I got her so I left them. She should have on unmarked side button vinyl shoes. I have included a picture from my book, Small Dolls of the 40s and 50s by Carol J Stover. The picture can be found on page 52.
