Connally residence, on Ashby Street in West End, Georgia (later annexed into the city of Atlanta), was originally built by John Thrasher in 1858. In August 1864, Confederate General John B. Hood occupied the home. Dr. Connally purchased the residence in 1887 and subsequently remodeled it. Known as "The Homestead," it was demolished in 1931... -- SENT TO GREENVILLE GA TO Major John W. Park; Confederate Officer in the Civil War. During the Civil War he was a Major in the First Georgia Regiment. After the war he settled in Greenville Georgia in Meriwether County. John Park was one of the organizers of the Georgia Bar Association and one of it's Presidents. He was the foremost lawyer in the Coweta Circuit.
